Each year, Mirror Show Management chooses a new way to invest in women in their communities. Mirror Show Management is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Invest in Women Scholarship. First place went to Julianne Fiori of Pittsford, NY for $1000; Emily Hinckley of Newark, NY won second place for $500; and Aline Leclair of Pittsford, NY won third place for $250. The Invest in Women scholarship is sponsored by MSM.

Scholarship winners were selected based on their essay submissions which answered how the applicant would make a difference in their community as a woman business leader/owner. The selected winning essays showed an inherent desire to achieve in the business world, and stood above the other submissions in innovation and comprehensive clarity of vision.

Supporting the growth and future of young woman locally in Rochester, NY and beyond is an ongoing commitment MSM believes in. As a woman-owned business, MSM is pleased and excited to encourage women such as this year’s recipients, and wishes them immeasurable success in their futures.

Julianne Fiore, the first place winner in our Invest in Women Scholarship, will be attending Marist College in Poughkeepsie in the Fall of 2012.  She has been invited to be a member of their Honor’s Program.  Her major will be Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing in their School of Management.  In addition, she will be rowing as a member of their Division I Women’s Crew Team.   Congratulations and best wishes Julianne!

Emily Hinckley, the second place winner in our Invest in Women Scholarship, will be attending SUNY Oswego.  Her major will be Graphic Design. Congratulations and best wishes Emily!

In recent years, the number of women in business has been on the rise. “As a woman-owned business, we want to put the spotlight on the next generation of female entrepreneurs,” explains Donna Shultz, president, Mirror Show Management. “We believe an essay contest will give young women an opportunity to explore and voice their perspectives on their future as potential business leaders.”

The Mirror Show Management “Invest in Women” essay contest will begin accepting essays on September 15, 2011. Three awards will be granted in the amounts of $1,000 for first prize, $500 for second prize, and $250 for third prize. Essay details and application requirements for the contest will be posted on the Mirror Show Management web site on August 1, 2011. Winners will be announced by March 31, 2012.
